We dove into boundary-setting, mindful leadership, and delegation as essential tools for sustaining energy and resilience. Through meaningful discussions and guided reflection, each participant walked away with a personalized self-care action plan to integrate well-being into their leadership approach.

The energy in the (virtual) room was amazing, and I’m so inspired by the thoughtful conversations and shared commitment to fostering healthier, more balanced workplaces. Thank you to everyone who attended, engaged, and made this experience so impactful!

This morning, Facebook memories took me on a trip down memory lane to my first solo conference presentation nine years ago. I stepped up to the stage to chat with college and university staff from all over New Jersey about crisis management, best practices, wellbeing, and creating safe and inclusive spaces for students and staff. It’s wild to see how far I’ve come, knowing my core values have stayed rock solid, and to imagine all the adventures still ahead. Feeling super grateful for this little Monday morning dose of nostalgia. Cheers to remembering our roots and celebrating the journey! 👏

Exploring the 5 Stages of Team Development, with emphasis on ‘storming’ and ‘norming,’ we engaged in positive conflict resolution and collaborative action planning. It was a day filled with meaningful connections, personal growth, exceptional collaboration, and transformative insights for this remarkable team! Thank you for the entrusting me as your Team Development Coach. I eagerly anticipate our next retreat together!

It’s Leap Day - so it only makes sense to get real about taking leaps of faith! The last 2 years of my life has been one great leap after the next. To be honest, I’m still leaping. Here are a few things I’ve learned so far:

1. It’s not the leap that’s scary, it’s the unknown that is. Leaping, but not knowing where you may land, is what keeps us stuck in our comfort zones. Ask yourself: if you make this change/go for it and if it’s everything you imagined, is it worth it? If yes, LEAP.

2. Remember your people! Who are around you to catch you when you leap? Hold onto them tight and allow them to help you along the way. The jump is scary, but you’ve got a team to love and support you through it.

3. Expect the unexpected, and embrace it! Leaps aren’t meant to be easy, if they were, you wouldn’t learn what you need to, to make that leap worth it. If it feels hard and makes your heart race - you’re doing it right. There will be ups and there will be downs, the journey will ebb and flow. Practice gratitude as you continue on, and know these are pivotal moments along the way.

So quit the job that doesn’t serve you, start the business that speaks to your soul, do the thing that makes your heart glow and trust that your leap will bring you a landing greater than you could have ever imagined. Trust in yourself, you know what’s best for you, always. 🤍

There, I learned what it means to believe and trust in myself, the beauty of being connected, and I made friendships that I know will last a lifetime. Choosing to believe in what you feel in your heart isn’t always easy, but getting there feels like pure magic. Well, I think it’s time for a life update. Life has been quite a whirlwind the last 7 months. I accepted a new job, packed up my stuff and my dog and left my crazy and amazing life in NYC to chase new dreams and experiences. In just 6 months in my new role, I’ve been able to jet set to places like Chicago, Baton Rouge, Boston, Birmingham, Biloxi, and Orlando (to name a few). Y’all - I even learned how to pump gas in the process 😅

What you see: an exciting, upbeat, adventurous life filled with hopes and dreams and success!

What you don’t see: the very very REAL adjustment to significant change. I truly underestimated the impact of uprooting my life. The job is in a completely new field, I chose to leave the city I adore for life back in the burbs, and I’m having to recreate relationships and connections and a life in this entirely new space. And honestly, there’s been way more downs than ups. Managing the anxiety has been my greatest challenge and something I am working on each day. It’s scary to settle into a new norm! Choosing to do the scary thing over and over is where growth and development live, but it’s necessary (even when I’m tired and want to sit in a corner and cry instead). I share this as a reminder that what we see on social media isn’t the full picture and to say that “doing the scary thing” isn’t as picture perfect as all these motivational people make it sound.

Doing the scary thing is SCARY. It sucks, it’s daunting, it makes anxiety take control of your whole being, and makes us want to run away. However, it’s also temporary. Everything is. SO - if you’re like me, and you’re trying to push through and figure out what your journey in this life is, you’re not alone. I’m not sure anyone really has it all figured out - but while you trudge along the path - remember to breathe, give yourself grace, and know you’re doing the right thing. The universe has your back and so do I ✨

Choosing to do the scary thing over and over is where growth and development live, but it’s necessary (even when I’m tired and want to sit in a corner and cry instead). I share this as a reminder that what we see on social media isn’t the full picture and to say that “doing the scary thing” isn’t as picture perfect as all these motivational people make it sound.

Doing the scary thing is SCARY. It sucks, it’s daunting, it makes anxiety take control of your whole being, and makes us want to run away. However, it’s also temporary. Everything is. SO - if you’re like me, and you’re trying to push through and figure out what your journey in this life is, you’re not alone. I’m not sure anyone really has it all figured out - but while you trudge along the path - remember to breathe, give yourself grace, and know you’re doing the right thing. The universe has your back and so do I ✨

I have a secret. All of this time we’ve been taught that Mondays are the problem, but here’s the thing...Mondays aren’t the issue, your mindset is. Here’s a few little brain hacks to shift your perspective and lift your mood:
1. Whenever you think something negative, challenge yourself to think of 3 things that are positive/that you’re grateful for. If you can, say them out loud - heck, scream them out loud!
2. Take a mindful minute break. Take a deep breath in through your nose and blow out through your mouth slowly.
3. Smile more, even if you don’t wanna! When we make ourselves smile or laugh, our brains don’t know the difference and we genuinely start to smile and feel good.

A lot of change has happened since the world was hit by COVID and we have all been affected in some way or another. Today I found myself thinking how different life would be if the pandemic didn't happen, and in that moment I realized just how much I changed in response to it. I now only work in my office one day a week, and the rest of the week I work from home. Before COVID, I took pride in getting "dressed up" for the day, and now I'm lucky if I put on a pair of jeans. So, this morning, I decided to switch it up - do my hair, do my make up, and put on a cute outfit for my day in the office! I was surprised at the amount of normalcy I felt after getting ready; for a brief moment it felt "regular," like the pandemic never happened. I was able to find the long lost comfort that accompanied my old morning routine. While this isn't a life-changing moment, it was the nudge I needed to remember the small things I did before the pandemic; the routines that brought me comfort and normalcy, the things that made me smile, and the times that brought me moments of gratitude. Sometimes we forget to do those little things, and they are usually the first to be let go of when the world around us gets heavy. I encourage you all to take a moment to think about those "little things" you may have stopped doing, reintroduce them into your routine and rediscover the simplicity and joy they bring. Be kind to yourselves in the process and remember just how much you matter.

My heart has been so so heavy. Watching the news, seeing social media posts and hearing the sirens outside of my window, I find myself reflecting on how I can be a stronger ally to the black community. We are ALL brothers and sisters on this Earth and it is our responsibility to be an ally to all communities. You do not need to be a person of color to fight a battle that we all belong to. To my white friends, acknowledge your privileges...such as the privilege to be able to turn a blind eye to racism and hate because we are not forced to carry the weight of judgement because of the color of our skin. Have the hard conversations, read books, enhance your education and speak out. This is our battle too. To my friends of color, please know I stand with you and I honor you. I hear your cries and am committed to standing by your side and calling out the injustices. It takes us all to make the difference. Real talk. Sometimes everything we think we are certain of can come into question. That’s not always a bad thing, it means you broke ground to a deeper level of you. It means you are transforming, expanding your consciousness, and stepping closer to your truth. Recently I’ve been finding myself questioning everything I thought I was certain about. I know my purpose in life is to help others and make an impact, but it was always the question of HOW. My entire life has been spent learning, experiencing, and searching for that answer. The last few years I was certain of how I’d do it, celebrating the fact that I’ve finally found the answer I’ve been looking for. But now, without any warning, my soul is starting to question if the answer I hoped was the answer, actually isn’t it. So the search continues. I am practicing looking at this new stage as a point of transformation - entering into something exciting and trusting and knowing that God/the universe has my back. I’ve led with my thoughts for too long, so I’ve decided to lead with my heart instead. To quietly listen to what my soul has to say and to try and not give it my mind’s answer. Truth lives in our hearts, not our heads. I share this with you to be transparent of where I am, and to also encourage you to lean in to your truths and genuinely listen to your hearts. I know I’m not the only one in a place of confusion, uncertainty and transformation. Please know, I’m here with you too...and it’s okay. This week I had the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and experience nature in the most magical way. I learned about the New Mexican culture, played in the sand at White Sands Desert, went into the depths of the earth at Carlsbad Caverns, drove along Route 66, saw the Rio Grande, explored Santa Fe, was smothered in love by two beautiful pups, spent lots of time with an old friend, and ate the best Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. Often times we get stuck in the “preparation” stage of pursuing our goals and dreams. Sitting in the preparation stage is seeing the headlights of your train pulling up, but not yet getting on. The preparation stage DOES feel good because it takes you closer to the goal you’re wanting to obtain. But, the truth is, it can also be filled with lots of excuses. For example, if your goal is to lose weight, the preparation stage is important - maybe it’s buying a gym membership, purchasing equipment, filling your fridge and cabinets with healthy food, etc. However, if you do not move beyond this and enter into the work stage, you will never lose the weight. This goes for any goal. When you get stuck in the preparation stage, you are no longer preparing, you are STALLING. Life is too short to stall. Take the leap and get on the train. You have convinced yourself that you have been waiting for the train to come when the truth is, it’s been sitting in the station the entire time. You have all the tools you need to get to your final destination, but in order to get there, you’ve got to get on the train. 🚇
